| How
to Find Us |
The Club is
situated in Victoria Park, between Stratford Road and
Castle Road. The closest car park (right beside the Club) is
via
the Stratford Road entrance, immediately opposite South Wilts Grammar
School. Alternative parking is available via the Castle Road entrance,
a short distance from Park Lane. |
| Club Facilities and Activities | The Club premises consist
of a
Clubhouse, Kitchen, Separate Men's and Ladies Changing Rooms and
Toilets, and a Tool Shed. The Council have submitted a Grant
Application (in excess of £1 million) to the Heritage Lottery
Fund for the redevelopment and improvement of Victoria Park.
Upgrading the present Club premises is an integral part of
the
Application. The present Green was laid in 1921. It
has been constructed
on a clinker-based foundation and is exceptionally fast draining,
allowing
play under all but the most adverse conditions. Club Members
carry out all the maintenance. The Club plays in the Salisbury & District League (Men), the Ladies Triples League, and the Mixed Triples League (where selection preference is given to New Bowlers). In addition, the Club plays in County Competitions, and also plays friendly matches against Touring Teams and Clubs from neighbouring Counties. Fun Bowls sessions are held in the afternoons on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Free Coaching with an English Bowls Coach is available for New Bowlers. The necessary bowls and shoes are provided by the Club for these sessions. The Club has a Child Protection Officer. |
